Details of the Iran-US agreement according to The New York Times

The New York Times reports that among the released prisoners by Iran are Morad Tahbaz, Siamak Namazi, and Emad Sharghi.

The names of the other two released prisoners are not mentioned. One of the two unidentified prisoners is a scientist, and the other is a merchant.

The fifth prisoner, who is a woman, was previously released and is currently under house arrest.

The Biden administration will release the blocked $6 billion from Iran’s oil sales in South Korea and transfer it to an account in Qatar.

The government of Qatar will control Iran’s assets and only allow Iran to use it for the purchase of humanitarian goods.

This agreement was almost finalized in March, but negotiations were halted due to the arrest of one of the two unidentified American nationals by Iran.
