15 years in prison for holding a placard with Mahsa Amini’s name

Human rights activists have reported a 15-year prison sentence for Marzieh Rojin Yousefzadeh, a 26-year-old citizen from Mahabad, who was reportedly arrested on September 19 in Tehran’s Keshavarz Boulevard while holding a placard with Mahsa Amini’s name on it.

It is said that she was standing alone with this placard before the protests began when she was arrested.

The Committee for Following Up on the Arrested of the Woman, Life, Freedom Uprising states that this prisoner is currently held in Qarchak Varamin prison.

According to the report from this committee, which follows the situation of recent detainees, her only family member is her mother, who resides in Kurdistan, and in the absence of close relatives, her friends are not allowed to pursue her case.
