Khorasan newspaper is seeking to create an atmosphere of suppression and prevent criticism of Raisi’s government

Khorasan newspaper has criticized IRNA, the government’s news agency that reflects the news of Ebrahim Raisi’s government, accusing it of trying to create suppression and prevent criticism of Mr. Raisi’s government.

This newspaper, which is close to the conservatives, criticized a report from IRNA in its issue today, which addressed the coverage of Iranian newspapers on the actions of Mr. Raisi’s government.

The IRNA article, titled ‘Government in the Front Page of Newspapers in the Past Year: More Destruction or Coverage of Actions,’ dealt with how the government’s actions were reflected in the Iranian press.

In this report, it was stated that the most front-page headlines with content praising and thanking Ebrahim Raisi’s government belonged to Kayhan newspaper with 222 and Vatan-e Emrooz with 20 percent.

This report claimed that the most destructive front-page headlines were allocated to two newspapers: Mardom Salari with 294 and Khorasan with 235 percent.

Khorasan newspaper responded to this report today, stating that the political nature of this report is more prominent than its journalistic aspect.

This newspaper, rejecting the content of this report, stated that such a report could pose the risk of suppression in criticizing and demanding accountability from the government.
