Migration statistics in the blacklist
A few days ago, news broke that the director of the Iranian Migration Observatory had been banned from giving interviews. This news was met with a reaction from the Office of Scientific and Technological Deputy of the Presidency. Rohallah Dehghanifiroozabad, in his press conference, announced that the data provided by the observatory is not transparent, and the emphasis of this office is on not providing incorrect information to the public.
Three years have passed since the publication of the Iranian Migration Yearbook, and during this time, the Migration Observatory has been the main source of statistics related to Iranian migration. Each time after the publication of this report, various media outlets have published the statistics of this observatory, which have been confirmed or cited by the Office of Scientific and Technological Deputy of the Presidency, especially in the field of migration of elites and the return of Iranian experts to the country. But now, Dehghanifiroozabad has announced that the statistics of this institution are not transparent.
