Ali Mousavi يصبح السفير الجديد لإيران في إنجلترا

Ali Mousavi becomes the new Iranian ambassador to the UK

Ismail Baghaei, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced the selection of the new Iranian ambassador to Britain after about 3 years and said that Ali Mousavi, the Director General of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been selected as the new Iranian ambassador to the UK.

Ismail Baghaei, emphasizing that the process of appointing ambassadors is clear, described media comments regarding the selection of ambassadors as media rumors and said we do not comment on media rumors and will announce it as soon as it is finalized.

Ali Mousavi, the Director General of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, replaces Mohsen Baharvand, who spent a total of six months in London.

Mohsen Baharvand was dismissed in March 2022 following the reaction of hardliners in Iran to the presence of unveiled women at the anniversary ceremony of the 1979 revolution at the Iranian embassy in Britain.
