Arrest and summoning of two journalists in Qazvin and Tehran on charges of spreading lies in cyberspace

Journalist Hesam Abedihah was arrested for reporting on a major fraud in Qazvin and criticizing judicial officials, while another journalist, Hasan Abbasi, was summoned for publishing content about poverty in Hormozgan.

The Telegram channel ‘Civil Protest of Bazaar’ on Friday, April 6, published a photo of Qazvin journalist Hesam Abedihah with handcuffs, stating that he was arrested for reporting on the fraud case of the Razaeiat Car Company Taravat Novin and was temporarily released after posting bail.

Critic journalist Hasan Abbasi recently published a photo of his summons order to the Tehran Media Court with the charge of spreading lies through cyberspace.

In his X network account, he published this order and stated that the reason for his summons was his demand for addressing deprivation in Hormozgan province, adding that the main reason for deprivation in the southern provinces is that some people in their positions, instead of striving to alleviate deprivation, are seeking to suppress and increase deprivation.
