Arrest of 282 people accused of links to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party in Turkey
In the past five days, at least 282 people have been arrested in Turkey on charges of links to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party PKK, which is banned in the country.
According to Ali Yerlikaya, the Turkish Minister of Interior, these individuals are accused of financially supporting the PKK, recruiting members, distributing propaganda for the party, and participating in violent street protests.
Yerlikaya stated that these arrests took place in 51 provinces of Turkey, and during the raids, two Kalashnikov rifles and several other weapons were discovered and confiscated.
