Kayhan Newspaper: Khatami Has Made Claims Aimed at Himself and His Associates

The Kayhan newspaper claims that Khatami has made assertions that are directed at himself and his like-minded associates.

The Kayhan newspaper writes that Mohammad Khatami has made claims primarily directed at himself and his associates, who have been at the forefront of the country’s executive management for more than three decades of the Islamic Republic’s existence. Today, as the legacy of their actions is a plethora of economic and social issues, instead of being accountable, they shamelessly position themselves as accusers and blame the system for inefficiency.

Mohammad Khatami and some of his associates often claim that he is a calm and peace-loving figure in politics, but there is no unrest or turmoil in which Khatami plays a calming and reasonable role. In 2009, he was among the leaders of the coup against the people’s vote.

In 2017 and 2019, he also showed that he prefers political opportunism over political rationality and the well-being of the people.
