Amir Reza Khadem’s reaction to the landing of Daei’s family plane in Kish: The last time such an event happened was during the arrest of Rigi.
Amir Reza Khadem, a veteran wrestler and former president of the Iranian Wrestling Federation, reacted on Instagram to the return of the plane carrying Daei’s wife and daughter from the UAE, saying the last time such an event occurred was during the operation to arrest Abdolmalek Rigi.
Mr. Khadem, referring to Ali Daei’s popularity, called such an action damaging to national solidarity and wrote: ‘Gentlemen, do you really think for a moment about what you are doing to trust and national unity with such actions? Honestly, was the departure of an individual, whose crime was closing his own shop, this strategic?’
Mr. Khadem had previously also protested against the arrest and harsh treatment of protesters by security forces by posting on his Instagram page.
