Ferman Moradi, the famous Iranian traditional instrument maker, has passed away.

Ferman Moradi passed away at the age of 77.

He was born in 1326 in Kermanshah and began his artistic career in 1349 at the Center for the Preservation and Propagation of Music.

Mr. Moradi was the head and instructor of the instrument-making workshop at this center and benefited from the guidance of musicians and players such as Dariush Safvat, Ahmad Ebadi, Saeed Hormozi, and Yousef Foroutan in making Iranian instruments.

The scientific guidance of the prominent tambour player Nour Ali Elahi helped Mr. Moradi to have a specific model in making this instrument.

He left behind a book titled ‘Sooz o Saaz Eshghi’ as a memento, which is about the art and life of his teacher Mohammad Navaei, known as Eshghi, and was published by Tasnif Publishing.
