Iran’s Tourist Assurance to Thailand for Ending Terrorist Actions Against Israelis
One of the significant points of contention between Iran and Israel in recent years has been Iran’s specific actions in orchestrating assassination plans against Israelis in Thailand, which, if you recall, resulted in a catastrophic debacle due to the clumsiness and negligence of Iranian operatives. It has now been revealed that this summer, Thailand’s security agencies, upon learning of new Iranian assassination plots against Israelis on their soil, went on full alert.
In a situation where Iran is under serious pressure due to its internal conditions and unstable foreign relations, Thai officials have exerted significant pressure on Iran to end such actions. Iran provided this commitment in late summer. In a meeting with a senior official from Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in mid-November, Thai officials assured him that they had received an additional commitment from Iran to halt operations against Israelis in Thailand.
