Masoumeh Ebtekar: A harsh approach cannot be the answer for young people who only want a better life.
The Vice President for Women and Family Affairs in the twelfth government highlighted the accumulated demands and dissatisfaction with the inefficiency of responsible bodies during protests, the erosion of the national media’s power alongside the relentless assault by media outlets whose identities are intertwined with hostility towards Iran, and their exploitation of the youth’s anger. All these have created conditions that have sounded the alarm for blind violence, violence that brings nothing but destruction for either side.
While it seems some do not hear the echo of the protesting youths’ cries, the concerned individuals grow increasingly fearful of destruction and darkness, trembling for the precious lives lost on both sides. This is a lose-lose equation, and of course, the government bears responsibility for this situation and must answer for the conditions that have arisen.
A harsh approach cannot be the answer for young people who only want a better life, even if they are influenced by enemy media or virtual networks, for which the national media is primarily to blame.
