Mohammad Motahari: Because thugs don't chant subversive slogans while attacking people with machetes, no one bothers them

Mohammad Motahari: Since the thugs don’t chant subversive slogans while attacking people with machetes, no one bothers them.

Mohammad Motahari, while sharing a video of a mugging on a Tehran highway, wrote that in our Iran, there is a special sensitivity towards foreign enemies and generally the enemies of the regime, and therefore, in the speeches of officials, there is usually no mention of the internal enemies of the people’s lives, property, and honor, whether it be mass assault, acid attacks, or attacking people with machetes.

I don’t know why, over many years, the officials who constantly talk about the people have not taken decisive action against these shocking atrocities. But from a pessimistic viewpoint, it’s because these thugs do not chant subversive slogans while attacking people with machetes, and thus, they are not seen as opposing the regime. Otherwise, the officials would, upon their arrest, showcase their faces, issue exemplary sentences, and inform the public of their punishments to eliminate the source of the sedition.
